With Thanksgiving in the air, we thought it would be great to share recipies.  Send us your favorite Thanksgiving recipie to millstonelakes@gmail.com and we’ll post it up on the blog to share with your neighbors.  Feel free to send any pictures you’d like to share as well!

Hope you had a great Halloween!  Now, what to do with that leftover candy….

You could:

– save it to use for decorating gingerbread houses for Christmas

– send it to Operation Gratitude.  It is added to care packages for United States troops and to kids in the areas they patrol.  Ship by December 5th to Operation Gratitude/California Army National Guard,  17330 Victory Blvd., Van Nuys, CA 91406. Attn: Charlie Othold.

-Use it as a “reward jar” for kids.. If you have kids, keep the extra candy in a special place and use it as special rewards for helping out around the house.

The block watch meeting went well.  Attendance was low but we still discussed issues at hand.

Thursday October 28th 6-8:00 p.m. is Beggar’s night for the City of Columbus which includes Millstone Lakes Apts.  Residents participating should turn porch light on.

I will have treats for the kids after school on that day. My bucket will be full of good stuff!

Time to change the furnace filters.  Any resident needing assistance, please call the rental office and I will schedule Lou to come and assist.

Please remove any garden hoses that may still be attached to the outside water spigots.  Leaving them attached with the cold weather coming could cause the pipe to burst!

Take a few minutes and clean off the patios and put away any summer items that will not get used during the upcoming fall & winter.

Check the batteries in your smoke alarms and check the light bulbs in the front and patio porch lights.

Be aware of your surroundings as it is getting darker earlier.

A block watch meeting will be held Thursday, September 30th at 6:00 pm.  Resident participation is appreciated!  Please bring your own chair.
